They do play a significant role in data quality initiatives, and are usually worth the investments made.

However none of them is a solution in itself.

For any of these tools to help achieving high data quality standards, it as to be integrated in a broader initiative, complemented by a strategic approach to data, with high commitment levels from top management, with experienced data quality professionals to follow through with a program.

Otherwise, nothing much will happen.
